Facial Implants
Facial beauty is generally associated with appealing bone structure. Sometimes the bone structure of the chin, jaw, or cheekbones can be underdeveloped. It is also the case that as the facial soft tissues age and change location, the bone structure of the face can add to an aged appearance. Changes to the appearance of the chin, jaw, or cheekbones can be achieved by augmenting the existing bony framework with facial implants. Specifically, augmentation of the chin, jaw, or cheekbones can bring a recessed mandible or midface in harmony with other facial features for a more balanced, natural, and appealing look. The surgical placement of facial implants can be performed as an isolated procedure, but is often performed in combination with rhinoplasty (nasal reshaping) or facelifting.
